It was just like any other Founder’s Week. You came to every event. You met new people. You smiled. You laughed. You had fun.
You came to my apartment on Thursday, September 6th, 2012 and you sat in my living room in our green chair and told us all why you wanted to join Alpha Pi Omega Sorority. We all laughed and had a great time. Not long after, you told us that you were going home to work on a paper. We hugged. We said our goodbyes.
And that was the last time that I would ever see you.
If I had known this, there are a thousand things I would have said. A thousand things I would have done. A thousand things we all constantly think of over and over..
A thousand things.
But we didn’t know.
God had much greater plans for you. An angel he needed sooner than we expected.
And it hurt.
I drove home on Friday, September 7th, 2012 as usual. I saw the ‘Welcome to Raeford’ sign and I nonchalantly opened twitter.
That’s when I saw it.
It’s as clear as day. It was a tweet posted by Mr. Rowsey… As first glance I discounted it as someone I did not know. Then I saw the name ‘Faith’ and then I saw your picture… And like a ton of bricks I fell into a complete meltdown. Before even regaining my sanity I began making hysterical phone calls to my sisters.
I constantly wish I could forget this day. I want to rewind time, go back to September 6th, 2012, make you stay at our apartment and never let you leave.
But God had another plan.
This is what I keep telling myself.
Your family is constantly in my prayers, and you, sister, will always be in my heart.
