Today the sisters of Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc lost another sister to a tragic car accident. Though I did not know her personally, we all live strongly by our motto, ‘My Sister As Myself’. As I sit here sad over the lost life of a beautiful Queen Bee I wonder about my life and what I will leave behind.
It is truly not something that I typically think about. We humans like to think we are immortal. We young adults like to think that life is timeless. But on September 7th, 2012 we saw that in the blink of an eye it can truly all be over.
I want them to say:
She was kind. She was smart. She was truly an amazing young woman. She was passionate. She loved her family and friends. She would give you the shirt off her back.
This is what I want them to say. Personally, I feel as if I have a long way to go before I can guarantee these things will be spoken of me upon my passing. But it is something to think about.
What will they say about you when you are no longer here? Who’s life have you impacted? What will you be remembered for?
